Rooms

Leading into the home is the main foyer area which provides easy access to the Residential Care Manager, Deputy Residential Care Manager, Resident Liaison Officer, Care and Clerical staff. The heart of the home is the main lounge area where many group activities and concerts are held. Complimentary to this area is the main dining area, together with a smaller dining area for a more intimate dining experience. Other internal communal areas in this light filled, open home include: a dedicated palliative care room with separate entry; a sensory room; a large community room with a kitchen and Broadband for Seniors kiosk, which can also be used forprivate family functions. All rooms at Toronto Nursing Home have access to a number of different communal amenities which enhance the quality of life of the residents.

Additional features of Toronto Nursing Home are the lovely plant filled verandah areas. Providing comfortable outdoor furniture these verandahs are often used for some quality ‘alone time’ or as an al fresco dining.

There are a variety of shared rooms available. Rooms which are 33sqm in size, with a maximum occupancy of 4 persons and access to a shared bathroom, or rooms which are 18.25sqm in size, with a maximum occupancy of 2 persons and access to a shared bathroom. The rooms are very spacious, light filled rooms with lovely high ceilings. All rooms include an electric adjustable bed, three drawer lockable bedside table, over bed table, personal built in wardrobe, privacy curtains, individual vital calls, ceiling fans and air conditioning. A number of the rooms open up onto the lovely verandah area and have beautiful mountain views, while others open out onto a garden area. Residents and families are encouraged to personalise their room with their own pictures and photos.

Maximum Price

  1. Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) – $270,000 or
  2. Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) – $42.39 or
  3. A combination of the RAD and DAP

Example of a combination payment for room based on 50% RAD and 50% DAP would be:
$135,000 RAD plus an ongoing DAP of $21.20 per day

These rooms are 12sqm in size, with a maximum occupancy of 1 person and have access to a shared bathroom. The rooms are light filled rooms with high ceilings, all with a lovely outlook and views. All rooms include an electric adjustable bed, three drawer lockable bedside table, over bed table, built in wardrobe and dressing table, individual vital calls, ceiling fans and air conditioning. Residents and families are encouraged to personalise their room with their own pictures and photos.

  1. Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) – $290,000 or
  2. Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) – $45.53 or
  3. A combination of the RAD and DAP

Example of a combination payment for room based on 50% RAD and 50% DAP would be:
$145,000 RAD plus an ongoing DAP of $22.75 per day

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Toronto Nursing Home is enhanced by the provision of a dynamic lifestyle and wellbeing program and was awarded two Better Pratice Awards in 2011 for the implementation of the Memory Magic Program and the Cameos for Empthy in Dementia Care project.

Activities such as gardening, where residents grow plants and herbs, and BBQs are often held in the many scenic outdoor areas to enjoy the sweeping mountain views.
