Help us to keep caring - Donation Program

Cherishing generations to come and past traditions, is a particular blessing of Anglican Care.  In the 1950’s, the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle observed that there would be an increasing need for aged persons.  Allowing for flexibility of service delivery, a large parcel of land was purchased at Booragul which was to provide a secure place for care and support for the aged.  In the 60 years since this visionary decision by the Diocese, the name has changed; the excellent standards of care have evolved, as has the complexity of issues facing those living so much longer.  Anglican Care has continued to thrive, to become the innovative and progressive aged care organisation that it is today.  Currently caring for 1000 residents and clients and employing 600 staff, this continued growth and expansion is in no small part due to the generosity shown by the many people who have not only donated their time and energy to Anglican Care, but also given monetary donations and bequests.

We are a not-for-profit, faith-based, community organisation.  In conjunction with resident / client fees, the Commonwealth Department of Health & Ageing is our primary funding source.  With an ageing population, the demand for aged care is growing, and the government will find it increasingly difficult to provide sufficient funds for the future, particularly in regard to the capital costs required to build and maintain our facilities.

Please think about supporting Anglican Care by making a donation.  Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible and you will be issued with a tax receipt.  Donations can be made using a cheque or money order and sending to:

Anglican Care
Toronto Road
Booragul  NSW  2284

Alternatively, you can also make a donation in person at our Administration Building, which is located at Toronto Road, Booragul.

Monies raised from our donation program go towards the purchase of additional equipment for our residents and clients which will enhance the provision of lifestyle and wellbeing programs.  An example of one of the programs that we have recently purchased with monies raised from our donations program is the Memory Magic Program for use in our seven Residential Aged Care Facilities and Day Therapy Centre.  This program is a unique therapeutic activity for people with dementia, featuring Montessori principles and based on using everyday skills.  Research by the developers of the program shows outcomes of more positive social behaviours and social interaction with significantly fewer behavioural issues.

Thank you for considering a donation to Anglican Care.  If you would like further information about Anglican Care’s ‘Help us to keep caring – Donation Program’, please contact Kylie Jacques, Anglican Care’s Marketing & Communications Manager on 02 4958 0095.
