Anglican Care Auxiliary
Operating since January 1957, Anglican Care’s Auxiliary has played a vital role in the continued growth and expansion of Anglican Care.
Known originally as The Old Folk’s Home Women’s Auxiliary, the purpose of the Auxiliary was to raise funds and to create interest in the original C A Brown facilities. Many functions have been held over the years, including cake stalls, fete’s, jumble sales, garden parties and cooking demonstrations and many hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised and donated to Anglican Care.
Moira Housden was the original President of the Auxiliary, commencing in 1959 and continuing in the role until 1973. Since then, presidents have been Nan Fowell, Mollie Lean, Dorothea Clark, Edna Dalby, Joyce Perkins, Pat Korsman and current President, Audrey Clark.
While the role of the Anglican Care Auxiliary has changed over the years, their ongoing enthusiasm and support has been, and continues to be, an integral part of Anglican Care without which we would not be able to provide all those little extras that contribute to the quality of the lives of our residents and clients.
If you are interested in joining Anglican Care’s Auxiliary, or would like to know further information about the events below, please contact Audrey Clark on 4958 6300.
