Located adjacent to the beautiful Lake Macquarie, Carey Bay Village consists of 31 low care (hostel) and 62 high care (nursing home) places.  The Nursing Home includes a dementia specific unit, whilst the Hostel includes suites for married couples.  The facility is situated in a quiet bushland setting with beautiful, tranquil garden areas for residents and their families to enjoy.  Additionally, there is a small local shopping centre located across the road for the convenience of residents, with the larger Toronto shopping centre just five minutes away.

Enjoying a long history in the Lake Macquarie area, the facility is well known in the local community for the quality of care it provides. 

Carey Bay Village is fully certified and accredited with the Department of Health & Ageing and the Aged Care Standards & Accreditation Agency. 

The facility employs approximately 94 staff including the facility manager, registered nurses, hostel supervisor, enrolled nurses, care assistants, lifestyle & wellbeing and hotel services staff.  Additionally, Anglican Care employs a Physiotherapist and Lifestyle & Wellbeing Co-ordinator who work across all of our residential aged care facilities.Unique to each of Anglican Care’s residential aged care facilities is the role of the Resident Liaison Officer.  The objective of this role is to ensure that the individual and social wellbeing needs of our residents are met according to Anglican Care’s mission, vision and values.  The Resident Liaison Officers also act as a liaison for residents and relatives with due regard to the Charter of Residents Rights and Responsibilities.

Located within the Toronto Parish area, the facility is located 5 minutes from  Toronto Private Hospital and the local shopping centre, with John Hunter Hospital approximately 25 minutes away.  The facility enjoys close ties with the local GP’s, schools and other community groups. 

Also located on the Carey Bay site are 31 retirement living units.
