Anglican Care Scenic Lodge Merewether is a beautiful 55 room extra service residential aged care facility offering low care accommodation. For people that may be unfamiliar with the term ‘extra service’, it means that at Scenic Lodge we provide the excellent level of care that is provided at all of Anglican Care’s services, but there is a higher standard of accommodation, services and food available at this facility.<>
The Location
Situated in the cosmopolitan, beachside suburb of Merewether, Scenic Lodge makes the most of its spectacular location on Scenic Drive. Positioned in a quiet residential area, Residents enjoy views overlooking the beautiful, historic Glenrock Recreation Area and the Pacific Ocean and enjoy access to fully landscaped gardens and walking paths.
The facility is also in close proximity of the many art galleries, parks, museums, theatres and shopping centres in the Newcastle area and is located in the Merewether Parish Area.
Care, support, environment
The facility is architecturally designed and built to ensure the highest level of comfort and service is available to all Residents.
The single rooms are spacious and luxurious, opening out onto either a courtyard or balcony area. Each room features an en-suite bathroom, heating and cooling system and is immaculately furnished with beautiful manchester and décor.
Situated throughout the facility are an assortment of stylish sitting rooms, lounge and activity areas. These areas provide places where residents can enjoy the company of family and friends, spend some quality ‘alone-time’ and spiritual reflection or enjoy group activities.
Of utmost importance to Anglican Care is the ability of Residents to be able to age peacefully in an environment of quality.

Dining Choices
Residents enjoy delicious cuisine prepared daily by our own Chef using fresh local produce. Daily menus incorporate the provision of main meals, including the choice of a hot breakfast on a daily basis, together with morning and afternoon teas.
All menus are designed around the nutritional requirements of the individual.
For those added indulgences, pre dinner drinks are offered prior to evening meals including a selection of wine, beer, juices and soft drinks. Happy hours and special occasion or theme menus, including cultural options, are also available to maintain diversity and interest.
Meals are able to be enjoyed in a variety of settings such as dining rooms, shaded outdoor areas, balconies or room service. It is also possible to arrange meals for guests, if residents are enjoying company.
