Malcolm was appointed to the Board of Anglican Care in February 2018. He is very familiar with our organisation as a serving Board Member from 2003 – 2016 and as the Chairperson of our Audit & Risk Committee. He has many years of experience in the corporate sector, including several other Directorships and memberships with Hunter based organisations. Bringing his drive and energy to the role, Malcolm will provide outstanding leadership and strong governance to our organisation.
Colin is responsible to the Board of Anglican Care for all aspects of the business, both strategic and operational. Colin commenced as Chief Executive Officer of Anglican Care in July 2012 and brings to the role his extensive experience in the acute health care sector. Colin holds a Bachelor of Health Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Management. Prior to commencing with Anglican Care Colin was the General Manager at the Calvary Mater Hospital in Newcastle throughout the last decade and during its redevelopment. Colin has also been extensively involved in the Motor Sport Industry, both nationally and internationally. He has served as the Chairman of the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport Ltd for eight years from 2000-2008.
Reporting to Colin is a dynamic hands-on Corporate Executive Group who works with managers and staff to ensure the delivery of excellent care and enhanced lifestyles, both on a day to day basis and by developing strategies for the future of the organisation.
Anglican Care is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who assist Anglican Care in performing to its best potential.
The Board of Directors role is to provide governance and strategic direction and work effectively with senior management to ensure high quality care and service delivery.
Our Board of Directors have skills in governance, including financial, accounting, management, leadership, aged care, corporate, audit, legal, property acquisition, development and strategic skills.
All Directors live within the regions serviced by Anglican Care and are committed to community development and improving aged and community services.

Karen is responsible for the management of all aspects of Anglican Care’s Residential Care Services. Commencing with Anglican Care in July 2014, Karen has had extensive residential aged care experience since 1993 and has held management and senior leadership roles since 2000. Karen is a Registered Nurse, has a Graduate Certificate in Aged Care Management, Certificate IV Training and Assessment and Certificate in Leading and Managing for Results.
Chris is responsible for the management of Anglican Care’s community based programs which include Home Care Packages in the Hunter, Central Coast and Manning Regions, the Day Therapy Centre at Booragul and all of Anglican Care’s Retirement Living Units. Chris has extensive community aged care experience having held senior leadership roles at local, regional and national levels. Chris holds a Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Arts and Master in Organisational Leadership.
Amber is responsible for providing financial support across all business areas of Anglican Care, along with the development and mentoring of the finance team. This position ensures delivery of accurate, on time financial reports and developing strategic relationships with operational stakeholders across the organisation. Amber joined Anglican Care in 2011 as a Management Accountant, providing strategic advice and financial modelling. Her background in finance is quite diverse, having started her career in health, she has also worked in the mining industry, for the Queensland Government and Department of Defence.
Gerard joined Anglican Care in 2015, with extensive experience in property services and aged care, having held similar positions over many years with Catholic Care, Catholic Care of the Aged, and more recently, Calvary. Gerard is responsible for the management of all of Anglican Care’s property services, including responsibility for the Maintenance Services.
Catherine has been leading Anglican Care’s People & Workplace team since 2005. She has over 20 years experience in all facets of Human Resource Management. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety and a Diploma of Human Resource Management. As the recipient of a scholarship awarded by the Australian Graduate School of Management to attend an Accelerated Leadership Program in 2008, Catherine has been asked to present at aged care seminars across Australia on both Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and HR Management and has had a number of papers published in these areas.
Jane is responsible for ensuring that Anglican Care continues to meet regulatory obligations and that risks are identified, managed and reported. Jane joined Anglican Care in 2010, with over 15 years’ experience working in government, consultancy and finance. Jane holds a Bachelor Degree in Business.
Kylie is responsible for leading the development and management of communications and marketing across the organisation. Working closely with Anglican Care’s CEO, Kylie initiates and implements specific marketing, communications and promotional programs and assists in sourcing funding for the implementation of innovative programs across the organisation. Having worked at Anglican Care for the past 16 years, Kylie has an excellent knowledge of the organisation, together with the aged care industry in general. Kylie has tertiary qualifications in Marketing and Management.
