Anglican Care: Winners in Hunter Safety Awards
In exciting news for our organisation, Anglican Care were announced as winners at the recent Hunter Safety Awards which recognise local businesses who have integrated work, health and safety as part of their core business. At the Awards dinner on Friday night Anglican Care won in the category Most Innovative WHS Idea! Our study involved the use of dorsaVi’s wearable, wireless sensor technology for measurement of staff movements in real-time work situations and the design of evidence based solutions. The project was led by our Work Health and Safety guru Lauren Hutton, who is an Exercise Physiologist with an extensive background in injury management and rehabilitation. As with any successful project, Lauren was assisted by a number of other people from various parts of our organisation including HR, Hospitality Services, Care Staff, Property, Maintenance, Contracts and Procurement, Facility Managers and Team Leaders.
A massive congratulations to Lauren and all of our fantastic and hard working staff that have been involved in this outstanding project – a wonderful example of cross unit collaboration and a great way to highlight the innovation within our organisation.
Given the success of this project Lauren will be continuing to do quarterly reviews for a further 12 months in conjunction with dorsaVi to measure ongoing outcomes of the project.
